AN IMMEDIATE REWARD FOR BRICKIES' BLISTERING START

THEIR fantastic early form in the new season has brought Jamie Kay’s Brickies six straight wins - so perhaps no surprise we have been chosen as the Wessex League’s Division One Club of the Month. On some occasions it might be tough for the League to make their monthly choice - but there can be no doubt their deliberations must have taken all of a few seconds this time. Going into this weekend’s matches, New Milton sit two points clear at the top of the table, with a game in hand on everyone around them. Significantly “those around them” in the next three positions, are Fawley, Cove and Amesbury, each of whom have lost only once this season - every one of those losses to the Brickies! On top of that, the League have also been impressed by the standard of New Milton’s matchday hospitality, the warm welcome they give to the opposing team’s officials, players and fans. Chairman Gary Squires said: “This is a brilliant recognition for everyone involved at New Milton Town. A huge thank you to our players, management, staff, volunteers and supporters - every one has played their part in achieving this award. We have immediately set ourselves a high standard on and off the field, and we fully intend for that to be maintained.”
