AFTER last Saturday’s sizzling start to the new Wessex Division One season, New Milton Town have the chance to keep their 100pc League record intact when they face AFC Aldermaston at the GD Print Stadium this Saturday (8th) at 3pm. The 6-1 win against highly-rated Cove was followed by a 5-1 loss at Cowes Sports on Tuesday in the Hampshire Senior Cup, but manager Jamie Kay experimented with six changes to the previous starting line-up, and things didn’t go to plan. Jamie said: “This defeat was not acceptable in terms of the goals we gave away, and the fact we made six changes is not an excuse. We’ll review the game, and use it as an opportunity to improve. The focus is on responding in the right way and making sure we show a better version of ourselves on Saturday.” Aldermaston are among those teams who have already played two League matches, and they’ve made a solid start. They drew 2-2 at Ringwood last Saturday and followed up with a 2-0 midweek win at home to Totton & Eling. After last week’s big win, in front of a good crowd OF 263, the Brickies hope for even more in the stands and along the touchline with an offer to season ticket holders from any other clubs to gain entry for just a fiver. Bash, Brock and Christchurch are all away, and Lymo have no game, and there are no games either at The Vitality or St Mary’s - so there’s an excellent opportunity for local fans to get their football fix at the GD Print Stadium. There might also be holidaymakers in the area who have “seasons” elsewhere, so it could be a busy afternoon on the Fawcetts turnstiles!
