BRICKIES GO DOWN BATTLING

THE Brickies suffered their first defeat of pre-season way to Hamworthy Recreation on Thursday - but the 3-1 scoreline flattered the home team. New Milton had the better of the early exchanges and deserved the lead they took through Joe Roberts after 26 minutes. Ham Rec soon equalised, but it remained all square through to the 67th minute, by which time the Brickies had made a raft of substitutions. Jamie Kay’s men battled away for an equaliser but the game eventually slipped away in the final minute when the home side added their third.
