BRICKIES IN CUP ACTION TONIGHT AGAINST HANTS LEAGUE OPPOSITION

THE Brickies are back at the GD Print Stadium tonight for a Southampton Senior Cup date with Bishops Waltham Dynamos. The Dynamos play in the Hampshire Premier League and are currently fifth of the 17 teams in that competition. The odd number means someone sits out without a game each week, and last weekend it was Bishops Waltham, who have made something of yo-yo progress this season, often with a big goals tally attached, sometimes in their favour, sometimes against. Their previous game was a handy 6-2 defeat of Whitehill & Bordon - revenge there for a game two weeks earlier when Whitehill removed the Dynamos from the Hampshire League Cup. Other big-score results include a 5-2 win away to US Portsmouth and a 6-1 whacking of Neon Milton (best whisper the “Milton” part of that!). Another decent win, 3-0, came away to Crofton Saints, but that result followed two home defeats, to AFC Shirley and league-leading Moneyfields Reserves, 4-1 and 4-2 respectively. Perhaps an indication of what was to come in the scoring stakes came from the very first game of the season, where the Dynamos lost 6-5 at home to Hook! So don’t look away too often tonight - the nets could be rippling a few times, maybe at either end! Kick-off is 7.45.
