Preview: East Cowes vs New Milton

Writer: Jamie TarrantJamie Tarrant

The Brickmakers travel to the Isle of Wight with 80+ fans tomorrow afternoon in what is being billed as one of the season's most important games so far.

With 11 games to go, New Milton Town leads the Wessex League Division One by six points, with other teams having games in hand.

Manager Matt Maybury said the following ahead of the fixture.

"There’s a real buzz around the whole club for the game. To hear the club has sold out a coach and the number of supporters going by car is ridiculous. Everybody seems to be going, and the lads are equally excited. We’ve been busy improving the squad again this week, and you’ll see a new face over the weekend.
It’s a big game, no doubt about it, but it’s no bigger than any other. They’re all worth 3 points, and we’ve got 10 other games to go to afterwards. Whatever happens Saturday, there will be plenty more twists in the road before the end of the season, and this game won’t decide anything. So, for us, it’s important we go there fearless without any pressure and play to the standard we know we’re capable of.
But make no mistake about it, we’ll be setting up to have a go and will be going there with the mindset of getting 3 points."
