New Milton Town make the short trip to Southampton to take on 17th-place Fawley AFC tomorrow afternoon as they look to extend their ten-game unbeaten run in the Wessex League and stay atop of the table.
Club captain Brad Snelling gave his thoughts ahead of the game.
"It's another tricky away trip again for us this weekend, but I think we can be full of confidence coming into it and use the momentum we have created from our current run.
The league table implies it'll be an easy game, but that certainly isn't the case.
Knowing what Fawley is about and looking at their results, you can see 90% of their games have been close one-goal swings for most of the season, so we know we have to be at 100% for the whole game and earn the right to get a positive result."
LEAGUE FORM GUIDE - WESSEX LEAGUE DIV.1
The Brickmakers go into this one with goalkeeper Ollie Bull having kept three consecutive clean sheets in the league - aided by Maybury, Smith, Foden, Moore and Pearce-Eavis - and are also on a four-game winning run away from home. In fact, Matt Maybury's team have yet to taste defeat on the road this season.
Fawley come into this game on the back of a 2-2 draw away at Verwood Town, having been beaten by promotion-chasers Fleetlands the week beforehand.
The two side's last ten games look like this.
Fawley AFC - WWLLLWLLLD
New Milton Town FC - WWDWWDWWWW
HEAD TO HEAD - NEW MILTON VS FAWLEY AFC
Ourselves and Fawley have faced each other 18 times—going back to 2007, where our records begin—with the Oilers ahead by two in the win column. Last season's results were ones to forget, New Milton, as Fawley won 5-1 at home in December 2023 and 1-0 at the M.A. Hart Stadium in March of this year.
Our last away win at Fawley came on September 7th 2022. It was a 4-0 victory in which Luke Stone scored three, and Josh Monk unfortunately put through his own net for the home side.
