LEAGUE matches don’t come much tastier than the top team playing opposition from just one place behind them in the table. It’s been a relatively straightforward season at home for New Milton Town, the 6-1 demolition of Cove on the opening day the perfect appetiser. Next up Aldermaston came to the GD Print Stadium and made a game of it, two late goals giving us a laboured, but well-deserved 3-1 win. The 1-0 win at Fawley proved that the Brickies were not just home-town boys and last Saturday’s 4-1 defeat of Ash United was clinical after an indifferent start. Meanwhile Amesbury have played a game more. They started their season with a bizarre ten-goal thriller against Folland Sports, a 6-4 home win. Things were much calmer next time out at home to Blandford, which ended in a goal-less draw. Another draw followed, at Whitchurch, 1-1, but Amesbury’s big result so far was a 3-1 win at Sandhurst. The “watch-out” factor there was that Sandhurst, at the time, were top of the table. Back home after that came a 2-1 defeat of Aldermaston - so five games, three wins an two draws - just like the Brickies, unbeaten. This one could be a tasty, “not-to-be-missed”, football feast - you're table is booked for 3pm GD Print Stadium at Fawcetts Field!
