Everyone at New Milton Town are thrilled to announce that first-team manager Matt Maybury and coach Neil Langridge have both agreed to stay on for the 2025/26 season as the club prepares for life in the Wessex Premier League.

In a major statement of intent from the newly-crowned Division One champions, the club can also confirm that Neil Langridge will step into the role of assistant manager, officially forming an effective new management duo with Maybury at the helm.

The news comes just one week after the Brickmakers sealed a stunning promotion as champions following an unforgettable 3-2 win away at Hamworthy United – a result that capped off a near-perfect debut season as manager for Maybury.

'Chez' has quickly established himself as a hugely respected and popular figure both on and off the pitch at the M.A. Hart Stadium. His leadership, tactical know-how and relationship with players and fans have made a huge impact in a short space of time.

Having signed on for a further year, Matt commented:

“As soon as the Chairman asked me to stay on, there wasn’t a single thought in my mind about doing it. The vision Dan (Wills) has for the club is really clear.
We’re not looking for immediate success, and we know next season will be a step up, but we believe in what we’re doing, and hopefully, we can have a good first year back in the Wessex Premier. It definitely feels like we’re just at the start of the project, so I’m really excited to be going again next year.”

Langridge’s promotion to assistant manager follows an incredible season at both senior and youth levels. While working with the first team this season, he has also continued to guide the club’s Under-18s – lifting the Hampshire FA Youth Cup last year and keeping them firmly in the hunt for league glory again this campaign.

His full focus will shift to the first team at the end of this season as he takes on the assistant role and looks to help drive the Brickies forward at a higher level.

When speaking about his new role, Neil stated:

"Matt asked me to stay on next season, and it was an easy yes from me. Working with Matt and the lads has been brilliant this year, and as I won’t be the Under-18s manager any further, staying on as Matt’s assistant is an exciting prospect with the step up next year. The club and committee couldn’t be more welcoming or supportive.
Matt and I work very well together, and I’m keen to see what this group of lads can do for the upcoming season.”

With promotion secured and stability in the dugout confirmed, the Brickmakers can now look ahead to the 2025/26 season with real optimism and momentum.

Exciting times lie ahead at New Milton Town Football Club.
