WESSEX LEAGUE NEWSLETTER SCORES EVERY TIME!
EVEN if you are a Brickies-only fan you probably have a passing interest in what’s happening in the rest of the Wessex League, particularly at Bash, Brock, Lymo and XChurch. If you are a local ground-hopper (when the Brickies are not playing, or too far away!), if you are a "Statto" statistics guru, or someone who follows football across the wider South Coast area, then you might know already that there is a sensational bit of reading that comes out on a Sunday morning - the Wessex League Newsletter. Absolutely free to read on line, it’s up there with the legendary Non-League Paper as a truly amazing piece of production work. Produced by the League itself, it includes material well beyond an excellent Wessex round-up which gives scores, scorers, attendances, selected match reports (frequently ours!) and pictures, including, often, some by Brickies’ photographer Les Chase. Then come the hard stats - up-to-date charts of attendances, goalscorers, not only in the Wessex but also across the entire Step 6 clubs in the country. By the way, we are currently 11th of more than 300 Step 6 clubs, for points per game, and high up the attendances charts as well. If you want to know about Cups - results and fixtures from just about every senior competition across Dorset, Hants and Wiltshire - and tables, fixtures and results include even the Isthmian, Hampshire Senior, Dorset Premier and Southern Leagues. And if it’s the age-group teams you want, you can check out the Hampshire U23 and U18 development leagues. You can even check if any of your past Wessex League refs are involved in the EFL or Prem and where they will be officiating next. So if you’re a true football fan - aren’t we all? - and you haven’t heard of it, then take a look at the current version on the link below. It also cross-references to the Wessex League official podcast with a QR code link. And if you’re really keen, the archive includes every newsletter going back several years. So kudos to the folks at Wessex for a really interesting, well-produced, publication!
